Event #166 "Role of the forensic engineer in construction disputes and how best to brief them" by Sean Brady
Date: 2017-03-21
Time: 6:00 for 6:30pm
Speaker: Dr Sean Brady of Brady Heywood Pty Ltd

Engineering experts are often engaged in construction disputes involving defects and collapses to opine on both the cause of a failure and the technical aspects relating to whether or not the structure was designed and constructed in compliance with the relevant legal requirements. Dr Sean Brady will explore the material and processes typically utilized by experts in reaching such opinions and discuss why addressing the causation question requires forensic expertise, while the compliance question requires design expertise, both of which are quite distinct. He will conclude with practical advice on how to ensure expert witnesses are approaching their brief in a manner that is independent, transparent, and forensically sound.
